” A singular history of dance”  tells, in the form of a conference, how Fabrice Ramalingom became a dancer and how through his experience as a dancer/interpreter led him to become a choreographer. Using a selection of film extracts of choreographic works, including those he has himself danced by Dominique Bagouet or Trisha Brown, he deciphers the construction of the choreography and also dances extracts from certain of the works. In this ways he also shows the physical transmission of choreography.

The object of the conference is to offer the public a personal and historical knowledge in order to better appreciate contemporary dance.

 This project can be presented either in the framework of a classic programmation or accompanied by workshops as in the case in 2011 during a tour of high schools.

 These workshops underline the experimentation process and the understanding of certain bases which constitute contemporary dance; the relationship between the spatial and the other, the notion of weight, of time… It also abords subjects such as the ‘sense’ of movement by playing with certain variables such as strength or speed.
